- During the 1990’s Internet forum software such as WebEx, created running conversations with “threads” or topical connections between messages.
- The modern blog then evolved to people chronicling their personal lives, to news reports, or other items the author felt was interesting.
- In 1998-99, several sites launched “build your own blog” tools putting technology in the hands of technology neophytes (Open Diary, LiveJournal, Pitas, and Blogger)
